The short version
syNK Studio does not collect, receive, sell, or share any of your data. We have no servers and no accounts, and Kept contains no analytics, no ads, and no tracking or advertising SDKs. Everything you enter stays on your phone — unless you switch on one of the optional Google features below, in which case your phone talks directly to your own Google account, never to us.
What the app stores, and where
Kept keeps your habits, check-ins, the notes you write on habits and days, timers, tasks, calendar events you add by hand, and settings in the app's private storage on your device. This data:
- is never sent to syNK Studio;
- is included in Android's standard app backup if you have that enabled on your device (this is handled by Android and your Google account, not by us);
- can be exported by you at any time from Settings → Your data → Export backup, and restored with Import backup;
- is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Permissions Kept asks for

Kept does not access your camera, microphone, contacts, location, files (other than a backup file you explicitly pick), or any other sensor.
Optional Google features (Calendar, Tasks, Drive backup)
These are off by default and only start if you tap Connect Google Calendar in Settings and approve Google's consent screen. Your phone then talks directly to Google's servers over an encrypted connection; nothing passes through, or is visible to, syNK Studio.
If you connect, Kept requests:
calendar.readonly— to list your calendars and show events from the ones you enable;calendar.events— to add events you create in Kept to the calendar you choose, and to delete them again, only when you have turned that on in Settings;tasks— to show your Google Tasks lists, and to add, edit, complete and delete tasks that you change in Kept when you choose to;drive.appdata— only if you turn on Auto backup to Google Drive: Kept saves one backup file in a hidden, app-only folder of your own Google Drive and reads it back when you choose Restore. With this permission Kept cannot see, open or change any other file in your Drive. Turning the option off stops the backups; you can delete the stored copy from Google Drive → Settings → Manage apps → Kept → Delete hidden app data.
Kept never reads or changes anything else in your Google account, and never writes to Google unless you turned it on (Settings → Calendars → New items from Kept).
Kept talks directly to Google's servers from your device. The sign-in tokens are kept in the app's private storage on your phone, are never sent to syNK Studio, and are not included in the backup files Kept makes (Export backup, Google Drive backup). If you have Android's own device backup switched on, Android may copy the app's private storage — including these tokens — into the device backup of your own Google account; that backup is made and protected by Android and Google, not by us. Disconnect in Settings deletes them from your phone immediately and asks Google to withdraw the access you granted; you can also remove Kept at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Google events and tasks shown in Kept are removed from the app when you disconnect (they stay in your Google account). Google's handling of your data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Data that comes from Google (your events and tasks) is used only to show and update it inside Kept on your device. It is not transferred to anyone, not used for advertising, and not read by any person.
Kept's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
The free version and the one-time unlock
Kept is free to download. One optional purchase through Google Play unlocks the full version (any number of habits, the list widget, the Google features; the habit ring widget is free). Google handles the payment: syNK Studio never receives your name, card, address or any other payment detail, and has no server on which a purchase could be recorded. To know whether the full version is unlocked, Kept asks the Google Play app on your phone whether your Google account owns the unlock, and remembers the answer (yes/no) on your phone. Refunds and receipts are handled by Google Play under its own terms and privacy policy.
Home-screen widgets
Widgets read the same on-device data as the app and display it on your home screen. Nothing is transmitted.
Deleting your data
Kept (by syNK Studio) has no server and no user accounts, so there is no copy of your data with us to request or delete. Everything is on your phone or, only if you switched those options on, in your own Google account. To delete it all:
1. Kept → Settings → Google → Disconnect (if you connected Google). This deletes the sign-in from your phone at once and asks Google to withdraw Kept's access. You can also remove Kept at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
2. Uninstall Kept. Android deletes everything the app stored on the phone: habits, timers, tasks, settings and widgets. Backup files you exported and saved somewhere yourself (your Files app, Drive, an e-mail) are yours and stay where you saved them; delete them there if you want them gone.
3. If you used the Google Drive backup: Google Drive → Settings → Manage apps → Kept → Delete hidden app data. That removes the backup copy from your Drive.
What stays: events and tasks you chose to add to Google Calendar or Google Tasks remain in your Google account, like any other event or task, until you delete them there. Nothing is kept anywhere else, and there is no retention period, because syNK Studio never receives your data. Questions: support@synkstudio.dev.
Children
Kept is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at the same address (https://synkstudio.dev/privacy) with an updated date.
